Well the Lions sank it the Horse Chestnut Deluge, but they did tread water for quite a while before succumbing. The loss to Ohio State brought to mind a cartoon idea that had wandered across my synapses a few years ago as I looked at what had happened to the Lions since the end of 1999. It seemed to be that after two years of despair there would be a great year and then back to two years of despair. This was quite different that what I was used to in the 80's where 5-6 was a bad season (and the first loosing one in an eternity) or in the 1990's where 92's 7-5 was viewed as hard to deal with. Well the new millennium taught us all about how good those previous days were as we had to deal with some of the worst records in JoePa's reign. Was this "one good two bad" the new "cycle" of things and if so how do we deal with the implications?

Well what if this concept was already under review in an ultra top secret football research facility buried deep with Mount Nittany. A little place I like to call the 'Lab for Quantum Nittonics'; and in this lab the Little Lion feels he has enough data to present his theory to the Nittany Lion. The big lion is at first is troubled that it may be one of the other dangers our planet faces, only to find out that the danger is much more tangible. The Little Lion explains the graph of events and how the next two years will be less than expected until 2008. The Nittany Lion can't believe that this is true and the Little Lion doesn't want to believe either but the data is just too compelling, especially how the current season is going.

The Little Lion tells the Nittany Lion that only a good number of wins will break the cycle, JoePa has no confidence in the theory what so ever, and the Wildcat on the field is trying to get some attention as our crew prepares to leave the lab to take care of business on the field. The overwhelming message of all this? Lions don't provide anymore evidence for the "Cycle Theory", we don't want to start dreading 2007 already!
